Corsage and bag

Going to a wedding a week on Saturday and needed a bag to match my dress and jacket. I think it looks cool. I found the corsage pattern here: http://fairislerona.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/how-to-make-reversible-tote-bag-and.html.

I used a 2.5mm hook, with navy, blue and turquoise 4ply mercerised cotton and ran a thread of silver lurex through it. Sparkly... I made the bag pattern up after having made a hat earlier on.

I need to line the bag though with some nice fabric... tomorrow's project.

Most Recent Completed Projects

I have made a number of items over the last few months, but haven't been adding them as I complete them unfortunately, so this is going to be a time consuming job...

So most recently I finished this one today. This will be for my sister's baby, that she is expecting for December, gender as yet unknown so not easy to judge what colours to use...I used a 3.5mm hook and leftover dk yarn. The pattern is called Great British Granny shrug and can be found at www.ravelry.com. (You need to be a member to access patterns.)

I completed this one last Monday (15th), after starting it on Sunday evening. The pattern is called Baby Sophisticate at www.ravelry.com. I used James C Brett marble chunky; colour MC3, left over from my previous project, so used about 100g on 5mm circular needles and double ended for the sleeves and am planning on knitting a matching hat.

I made myself this hooded jacket from this pattern http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/us/pattern.php?id=4252&lang=us. I used James C Brett marble chunky on 5 mm circular needles and made the sleeves with a seam. I bought 3 200g balls so had to wait a few weeks to get the last 2 needed for the sleeves - I used just over 800g, hence it took longer to complete though overall was a quick knit. I have had quite a number of compliments on this one.
It was the first time I did berry stitch which was a bit fiddly knitting 3 sts together, though I do like it.

I completed this sweater in mid September for my nephew's birthday this month. I used Robin dk yarn in a brown/lime twist and khaki and beige on 4mm circular/double pointed needles. I hope it fits him as I made and age 7, though my nephew will be 5 this month and I hope he likes it...

I crocheted this set at the start of Sept, took a couple of afternoons, with the intention of making a few sets as Christmas gifts for various people, but gave it to a friend who took a liking to it when visiting a few weeks back. I used some very old Woolworths brushed dk and a 3.5mm hook. Patterns which I modified quite a lot, can be found at http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/pattern.php?id=5757&lang=en and http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/pattern.php?id=5660&lang=en for the mittens.

I designed this one myself based on this sweater at RiverIsland that my son took a liking to. http://www.riverisland.com/men/knitwear/jumpers/light-grey-lace-neck-jumper--262642. I completed it at the beginning of September.

I used 4 mm circular needles and 400g Teddy Vantage dk yarn. I ended up making 3 sleeves as I didn't cast on enough stitches on the 2nd sleeve and didn't realise the diffence in sizes until I was ready to cast off for the sleeve cap. My son has worn this one quite frequently since so that was a result

I completed this one in July. The pattern can be found at http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/us/pattern.php?id=256&lang=us. I used 4mm circular and double pointed needles and Vantage double knit yarn. I had to use 3 strands in certain rows and found this part chunkier and puckered slightly and just prefer 2 strands on fairisle patterns as it has a more consistent finish. I made the matching scarf too, though haven't seen my son wearing it as yet as it hasn't been too cold so far. I did modify the top part as I didn't like the big gap between the colour work and the neck so it is altered from the original pattern.

I completed this one in mid August. I used the following pattern http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/us/pattern.php?id=756&lang=us though I didn't put the pattern on the sleeve. I used 4mm circular needles and double pointed needles, with different dk yarns - Patons, Teddy baby and Teddy Vantage as the main colour. I used about 400g of the main colour and oddments; about 20g of the other colours.

I designed a matching hat. My son asked if I could make a knitted bobble, which was a challenge as I have never made one before. He was pleased with the result and it only took an evening to complete.

Here is is wearing them both on his way to college.
