Oversized shopping bag

Made this one over Easter this year and forgot about it... I used 2 purple dk yarns and a 3.50mm hook. I remember it took a while to make. It is based on this pattern though I made it much bigger. I used 10x9 motifs. I used an old pillowcase as the lining and even added a pocket - my sewing machine skills are very basic, even though my first job in 1987 was in a sewing machine factory - though I was on a overlocker sewing straight lines!

This is the smaller one I made last year with cotton and silver lurex.

Short sleeve cover up

Made this in 4 days and pleased with the result. I used 2 yarns from my stash - 2 ply coral cotton and 2 ply coral boucle and a 3mm hook. Used this pattern for the body, used this pattern for the edging and based my design on the shape of this bolero.

Fairisle hat

Made this hat just after I made the dog sweater, using part of the fairisle pattern on 5mm needles with James Brett rustic aran in black fleck and Robbin aran in cream. Quick to make.

Long line cover up.

I used 2 threads together - coral cotton and coral boucle - both 2 ply yarns on cones from my stash, and a 3mm hook. I found this pattern though I modified mine to be open front because when I finished the back it was very large. I guess they used a fine cotton and 1mm hook on the original. I made my sleeves shorter too. Am pleased with the result, though I may just wear it around the house.

Short motif coverup

Found the remnants of 2 cones of purple cotton dk in my stash and decided to make a short coverup. Only had about a metre of thread left so couldn't edge the bottom edge. I made this one up without a pattern. Used a 3mm hook. Have been wearing it quite frequently in the recent hot weather over thin strap vests.

Long line Jacket and matching hat

I used chain-linked Wayfarer superchunky yarn for this and 8mm needles, will look good in the winter I think and made a matching hat. Modified the pockets on the pattern though and will need to change the buttons to larger ones. Because the wool is chunky I think they need 4 cm buttons and mine are 3cm.

Made a matching hat using this pattern.
