Tie Waist Bolero

This is the bolero I made for my sister's birthday.
Hanger View

Stitch Detail The pic is not very clear as she was wearing a black top under it - so I will have to take some more when I catch her.
My sis on her birthday

I devised my own pattern and I haven't finished the sleeves - she wanted bell style sleeves - I ran out of time. I started it last Monday after work and finished it a 2 pm on Saturday - the birthday lunch started at 2.30. I used a black acrylic yarn that I had left over from my long coat but I didn't use the gold thread this time. I used alternating sc/dc stitch and a 6mm hook.
I made her a pink eyelash scarf as well as the bolero - I finished it last weekend - didn't take long. I used a 5mm hook and the yarn is ICEYARN long eyelash - light pink. This one took 5 50g balls. It is shorter and wider than the one I made for me and she is wearing the bolero in this shot!

Purple Doiley

This needs ironing - but haven't got around to it yet. I used about 60g Twilleys Southern Comfort thread, shade 90 (purple) and a 1.5mm hook. Found the pattern in a classic crochet monthly mag. I started it a fortnight ago on the Sat night and did a bit each evening - I had to get a neck magnifying glass to see the pattern - gosh I am getting old!!! (Should get eyes tested and glasses - but when do I have the time??).

Did think about making another, putting spaghetti straps on it and filling in sides for summer top for my sis - there is loads of crochet wear out in shops for spring!

Crochet Coat/Cardi

Here is the coat jacket I have been working on while I was off sick from work (Had dreaded flu - was rough as heck for 2 weeks). I used this pattern and designed my own sleeves and made a belt to close it. I used an unusual black acrylic yarn with a 1 ply extra thin gold thread and a 4mm hook.

Charity Quiz

We went to a charity pub quiz last night at the Woodman in Bilbrook. It was a brilliant night. One of the rounds was guessing song titles along with the artist. This was a unique round as there was a bloke playing the introductions to the songs live on his guitar and he was excellent. Any how as there is usually 7 in our team, we had to split into 4s and my four came second out of 16 teams! At half time my team - "the crazy gang" was in the lead, but we were 3 and a half points behind the winning team at the end. I think we did really well for a bunch of 30 somethings against more experienced folks! Probably the best quiz I have been to. Oh and we won 4 bottles of white wine.
